A Beautiful House and Garden
Set amongst peaceful landscaped grounds, the majestic property of Akaroa House has been a landmark of the area for over 100 years, with a huge Norfolk Pine in the garden, visible from much of the village. Built in 1883 for the then mayor of Akaroa, this gracious “old lady” was fully restored and renovated in 2003.
Professionally landscaped gardens surround the house, including a couple of old protected trees, and a selection of fruit trees. Recent plantings of roses and camellias offer colour in different seasons.
