Imagine sitting on the deep verandah overlooking the serene seaside village of Akaroa, sipping coffee or wine (depending on the time of day!). Akaroa House is surrounded by professionally landscaped gardens, including a couple of old protected trees, and a selection of fruit trees. Recent plantings of roses, and camellias offer colour in different seasons. A great place to share with friends for a reunion or wedding preparation, or a great “secret hideaway” for couples. For those that treasure preserved history, and enjoy savouring a very special setting - Akaroa House is a lovingly restored heritage property that we like to share, when we can't be there.

Five bedrooms, all with heat pumps, and four guest bathrooms - two with baths. Further details of the bedrooms are on the Home page. The house is fully self contained, with guest linen, and toiletries provided. Akaroa House can be serviced daily. The Kitchen and Dining area: should you wish to dine “at home” there is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, large 900 cm oven, and five gas hobs, a microwave and dishwasher. Starters of tea, coffee, milk are provided, as well as oil, and seasonings. There is plenty of crockery, glassware, cutlery. You are welcome to use the barbeque on the verandah if you wish to dine “al fresco”, with plenty of outdoor seating, and tables. Akaroa also has a fantastic variety of restaurants, and cafes - so you don't have to cook!! - you could dine at a different place each day for a couple of weeks!!.

The dining area has a large solid timber table, with up to twelve dining chairs. In the lounge there is plenty of different seating options, along with a television, DVD and video player. A few DVDs and tapes are in the Kauri cupboard. Also a full laundry with inside and outside airers to keep the clothes up to date, and a tumble drier, if needed. Starters of wash powder provided. Off-street parking for a couple of cars, or the street is wide enough to park outside.

The private setting of Akaroa House proves conducive to innovative and productive meetings. The house has been used for small brainstorming groups of corporate leaders, and for casual team building exercises.

Hi Guys. Everything worked well for us, we didn't move the TV - too much hassle and it was quite nice to move from one room to the other to stretch legs etc. The quality of accommodation was excellent and all absolutely spotless. Thank you for two successful days.

The large wooden table extends to become a great boardroom table - accommodating up to ten/twelve delegates. Or the lounge can be used for brainstorming sessions around the coffee table. In warm weather there are outdoor tables and chairs as an outside option. Delegates can stay at Akaroa House, and if further accommodation is needed - there are motels, and apartments in easy walking distance. We can suggest local caterers to provide food, or the house is an easy stroll to the village to enjoy the great variety of cuisine on offer.

ACCOMMODATION AND CONFERENCE RATES

An exclusive booking of Akaroa House ranges from $300 - $800 NZ per night, depending on the length of stay, number of guests and seasonal demand.
